Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Objections raised by locals over four youths forcibly taking away a calf resulted in a group clash and stone pelting in Mangalhat police station area on Saturday.

Locals of Nayeem Basthi in Ginsichowrahi locality intercepted four youths on seeing them taking away a calf around 3 p.m. and asked them if it was being taken to the abattoir. But the group of youths said they owned the calf and were taking it to their house. An argument ensued and the locals beat up the group of youths accusing them of trying to kill the calf. On learning about the attack, their supporters gathered in large numbers in Ghode ki Khabar area. They attacked three autorickshaws and pelted stones at passersby. Police rushed additional forces to the locality and resorted to mild lathicharge to disperse the mob.
