National Press Day today

NEW DELHI: President Pratibha Patil will inaugurate a function at Vigyan Bhavan here on Sunday to celebrate National Press Day. November 16 is celebrated as National Press Day every year in recognition of a free and responsible Press in the country.

This year’s celebration is dedicated to the concept of ‘Women and Media’. It will be discussed at seminars organised all over the country.

The Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Information & Broadcasting, Anand Sharma, will be the guest of honour and the Chairman of the Press Council of India, Justice G. N. Ray, will preside over the function.
