2008-10 batch students get multiple offers

NEW DELHI: The Faculty of Management Studies at Delhi University has registered cent per cent summer placement for its 2008-10 batch students.

With multiple offers being made by different companies to the students of the two full-time programmes -- MBA and MBA (Management of Services) -- the average stipend this year has risen to Rs.37,000 per month from Rs.30,000 per month last year.

The highlight of this season’s placement was the niche profiles offered to students, ranging from private equity to investment banking to media communication.

Several Indian heavyweights and traditional recruiters made a slew of offers to the students across various sectors and geographies.

In addition, international roles were offered by different companies.

“The record 100 per cent summer placement this year, despite the global financial meltdown and general downturn in the industry, reaffirm the stature that this campus enjoys. We are sure that our students would succeed in any organisation across the globe, so the high number of international offers doesn’t come as a surprise to us,” said FMS placement convener Madhu Vij.

The students will do their summer placement at the end of the first year of MBA during March-April next year for a period of ten weeks.

“This year, along with our legacy recruiters, we also had new and niche players coming to the campus to assess and appreciate our products. The experience has turned out to be very enriching for all of us and we are looking forward to an encore in our final placements too,” said FMS Dean J. K. Mitra.
