V.R. Krishna Iyer turns 94

KOCHI: Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthandan was among those who greeted the former Justice of the Supreme Court, V.R. Krishna Iyer, as he celebrated his 94th birthday on Saturday. State Minister for Forests Binoy Vishwam too greeted Justice Iyer on his birthday.

Chief Justice of Kerala High Court H.L. Dattu, the former Attorney General Soli Sorabjee and Chairman and Managing Director of FACT George Sleeba also greeted Justice Iyer.

CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat who was in Alappuzha to attend a function greeted Justice Iyer over phone.

The highlight of the celebrations was the greetings from 30 children from Janaseva Sishu Bhavan, Aluva. Saved from the streets and resettled at the Sishu Bhavan, the children prayed that Justice Iyer be given a long life and good health to serve society.

Justice Iyer interacted with the children and offered them sweets.
