HC modifies order on demolition

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Friday modified an interim order it had given earlier staying the demolition of buildings in Tumkur for widening of roads.

Justice S. Abdul Nazir, who had stayed the demolition of buildings, modified the order and permitted the authorities to go ahead with the measurement of roads marked for widening. The judge passed the order on petitions by several residents of Tumkur who had challenged the mover to demolish their buildings.

When the matter relating to widening of a road at Tiptur came up, the court asked the authorities to give an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners.
