Court notice on fee collection

Davangere: The Davangere Civil Court which examined the petition by H.S.Veerabhadrappa questioning the propriety of collecting fee from those who take walk on tank bund of Kunduwada lake, has served notices to the Deputy Commissioner of Davangere district, Chairman of the Kunduwada Lake Development Authority and to the Commissioner of the Davangere City Corporation.

The District Administration is collecting fee of Rs. 2 per head from people to take a stroll on the tank bund and regular users of the bund, the fee is fixed at Rs. 50 per month.

The Court has directed the three authorities to explain under what provision the fee was being collected and what prompted them to collect the fee from those who prefer to walk on the tank bund.
