Easy day for favourites

Chennai: Favourites had an easy day winning round one of the VIT University National under-13 boys and girls’ chess championship at Vellore on Friday.

The top seeds, Sahaj Grover of Delhi and J. Saranya of Chennai scored comfortable wins with white in the boys and girls sections.

A record 413 players have lined up to play in this championship.
