Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram: As many as 1,500 delegates, including teachers, students and experts will participate in a three-day global seminar ‘Democratic and Secular Education: Kerala Experience’ at the Karyavattam campus of the University of Kerala on December 4. Addressing a press meet on Friday, Minister for Education M.A. Baby said 300 experts from all over India and abroad would present papers. The themes include State and Education, Education and Social Discrimination, Impact of Globalisation: Changing Character of Education, Information, Communication Technology and Knowledge Society and Search for a New Paradigm. The sessions will be chaired by Michael Apple, S.K. Thorat, Prabhat Patnaik, Cameron McCarthy and Romila Thapar. Participants can register in advance. Online registration facility is also available. Registration fee is Rs.50 for students and Rs.200 for others. The last date for registration is November 27. Mr.Baby inaugurated the website of the seminar www.seminarkerala.in.
