Thiruvananthapuram: The State Bank of Travancore (SBT) has launched a programme under its community service banking to provide financial support to academically meritorious students from financially backward families. SBT managing director A.K. Jaganathan inaugurated the programme at Cotton Hill Girls Higher Secondary School here on Friday. Gopika V.J. and Kumari Asha Sreekumar of the school were the recipients of the bank scholarship programme. School PTA president Padmakumar presided over the function. School headmistress Krishnakumary, SBT general manager Mathur K.Najuda, deputy general manager Joseph V.Mathew and assistant general manager V.Prabhakaran Nair were also present at the function.
