MCOPS students organise walkathon
Staff Correspondent
Manipal: Students of the Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS) organised a walkathon here on Friday.
Director of Manipal Institute of Communication (MIC) M.V. Kamath flagged off the walkathon. The theme of the walkathon was: “Ask your pharmacist - for safe use of prescription medicines”. It was meant to create awareness among people that medicines should be purchased only from a pharmacist and not from a non-pharmacist. The walkathon was organised as part of the week-long celebrations of “National Pharmacy Week”. The college organised the walkathon in association with the Manipal branches of Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Indian Hospital Pharmacists Association and Association of Community Pharmacists of India. Dean of the KMC-International Centre Poornima Baliga was the chief guest.
