Burial ground employees suspended

CHENNAI: Mayor M. Subramanian on Friday visited the Moolakothalam Burial Ground and caught two employees, who demanded Rs.3,800 for burning a dead body. The Corporation does not charge anything for burials and cremation at its grounds. A trap was laid for the duo following complaints. A man, posing as a grieving relative, was sent to bargain for cremating a body .

The caretaker and burial assistant were suspended.
