AOC Centre scores win

HYDERABAD: AOC Centre in Group ‘A’, Hyderabad YMCA in Group ‘B’ and Gitanjali School in Group ‘C’ registered wins in the Annual League championship being conducted by the Hyderabad District Basketball Association here on Friday.

While AOC Centre had to wade off a stiff resistance from Central Excise before recording a 54-46 win, Hyderabad YMCA was stretched as the Johnson Grammar School boys controlling the boards well, put up a good fight. But YMCA eventually won 75-64.

In another match Gitanjali School put out BHEL in a cliff hanger 28-26 to register its first win.

The results: AOC Centre 54 (Jaleel 10, Irfan Khan 12, Somya 12, Lakhweer Singh 11) bt Central Excise 46 (Devender 14, Susheel Kumar 12); Hyderabad YMCA 75 (Naresh 14, Mark 12, Johnny 16, Srikar 18) bt Johnson Grammar school 64 (Vishal Kumar 24); Gitanjali HS 28 (Madhav 10, Harsha 10) bt BHEL 26.

Boys Union beats Shaikpet

Boys Union Club beat Shaikpet Club 4-1 in the GNMC annual hockey tournament. In another match, Youth League beat Secunderabad Sporting 1-0. The scorer was Deepak.

Bhavans posts win

Bhavans college beat M.J. College of Engineering 3-2 in the Osmania University inter- college football tournament. Vikas, Lal and Fila scored for Bhavans, while Abu Bakar and Abdulla scored for MJCE. In another match Nizam College beat Anwar Ul Uloom college 5-3 via the tie-breaker.
