Prakash loses to Ball

NEW DELHI: Prakash Amritraj lost 5-7, 3-6 to Carsten Ball of Australia in the pre-quarterfinals of the $50,000 ATP Challenger tennis tournament at Champaign, Illinois, US.

Ball had earlier knocked out the top-seeded Vincent Spadea of the US in the third set tie-break of the first round.

Somdev Dev Varman in partnership with Izak Van Der Merwe of South Africa was scheduled to play Ilia Bozoljac of Serbia and Chris Haggard of South Africa in the doubles quarterfinals.
