India to strengthen partnership with Egypt

NEW DELHI: Seeking to strengthen the partnership with one of the big players in the Arab world, India plans to give a major thrust to cooperation with Egypt in information technology, oil and gas, power and railways sectors in addition to promoting exports of tea to Cairo.

Hosni Mubarak visit

Giving this information here on Friday, Minister of State for Power, Jairam Ramesh, said these issues would be given a firm shape during the forthcoming visit of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to India beginning November 16.

Mr. Jairam Ramesh had visited Egypt in May this year as a special representative of the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, to take part in the World Economic Forum on the Middle East held at Sharm El Sheikh.
