Incentives for panchayats meeting housing targets

KADAPA: Collector M.T. Krishna Babu on Friday assured incentives and additional facilities for gram panchayats which completed cent per cent construction of Indiramma houses.

Addressing the Kadapa divisional review meeting with special officers and mandal-level officers on housing, rural employment, horticulture and Nirmal Gram Puraskar and other aspects here, he said Rs. 1,100 crore was required for completion of houses in the three phases of Indiramma scheme and Rs. 450 crore had been spent so far.

Kadapa district stood fifth in the first phase and fourth in the second phase, he said.

The Collector directed officials to ensure completion of 11,000 houses sanctioned in the first phase..

The government decided to grant additional funds to 8,000 houses of SCs and STs as they were unable to complete the first phase houses owing to financial paucity.

The government granted Rs. 5 lakh to each mandal samakhya for purchase of centring material, Mr. Krishna Babu said.
