Thiruvananthapuram: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has decided to give up all positions it holds in government and semi-government bodies by December 17. Announcing the decision, NCP State president K. Muraleedharan said here on Friday that the party took this decision in view of its plans to conduct agitations against the government. NCP workers would stage a hunger strike in front of the Secretariat on December 17 against the LDF government’s failure on all fronts, he said. The NCP would also consider withdrawing support to the LDF in local bodies. The local leadership of his party would take an appropriate decision if it was approached by the UDF, he said. — Special Correspondent
