Tusker kills farmer

Karwar: A farmer was killed when a tusker attacked him in Garadolli village near Haliyal on Thursday. The victim has been identified as Salu Santan Belgaumkar (75). He was killed when he was threshing the paddy in the field. Salu and his family members were working the field belonging to his son-in-law. A tusker suddenly appeared in the field and chased the persons working in the field. All persons except Salu could escape. The tusker attacked Salu and killed him on the spot.
