KOZHIKODE: A three-day seminar on ‘Zero-budget natural farming’ will be held at the Nalanda Auditorium here from November 24. Jose Kadamanat, one of the organisers, said the objective was to popularise the new system of farming among agriculturists. Zero-budget farming expert Subhash Palekar would address the sessions on all the days. Manufacturing manureThe workshop would educate agriculturists on simple ways through which farmers could manufacture manure and insecticides on their landholdings itself. The buying of chemical or organic manure could be totally avoided. ProcessThe manufacture process of different types of natural fertilizer and insecticide would take only two days. The application of natural fertilizer and insecticide would not only increase productivity but also improve quality of seed and yield, organisers claimed. The base of the manure was cow dung and urine. By rearing one cow a farmer could get manure to cultivate 30 acres on an average. Mr. Kadambanat chaired the meeting held here in connection with the conduct of the workshop. ContactThose wishing to participate in the workshop may contact phone: 9745714264 (Thankachan Mathalikunnel), 9447385522(Jose Kadambanat).
