Chennai: A match of fortune swings ended with Uttar Pradesh thwarting a spirited fightback by Baroda on the final day of the Ranji Trophy Super League match in Vadodara on Thursday. Uttar Pradesh, which had gained the first innings lead, was 151 for six in its second essay when the contest concluded. Skipper Mohammed Kaif was unbeaten on 45. Hyderabad opener Ravi Teja’s 113 at Hyderabad meant there would be no comebacks for holder Delhi after conceding the lead. The host picked up three points and Delhi, one. Ravindra Jadeja followed up his unbeaten double century with five for 44 with his left-arm spin to bowl host Saurashtra to an innings win over Orissa at Rajkot. In a dramatic Plate Division match at Gwalior, Madhaya Pradesh collapsed to 63 for six in its second innings but hung on to a draw and the three points from the first innings lead against Bengal.
