GOOD SHOW: Ravi Teja’s unbeaten century and his partnership with Arjun Yadav were the highlights in Hyderabad’s second innings against Delhi. HYDERABAD: Hyderabad’s D.B. Ravi Teja compiled the third century of his Ranji career as the Elite Group ‘A’ league match between Hyderabad and Delhi ended in a draw at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Uppal on Thursday. Hyderabad picked up three points while Delhi got just one. Hyderabad now has six points from two matches while Delhi has four from two. Resuming its second innings at 31 for no loss, Hyderabad coasted into three figures before the opening stand was broken when Suman was trapped-leg before by Manhas. Suman’s 52 contained eight well struck boundaries and came off 108 balls. Two quick wicketsThen Manhas picked up two more wickets in quick succession. Rushi Raj was caught by substitute Chabra at mid-off and then the Anoop Pai, the century-maker in the first innings, was adjudged leg-before for a duck. The two quick dismissals created a brief flutter in the Hyderabad camp. But, thereafter Ravi Teja and Arjun Yadav restored solidity to the innings with an unbroken stand of 115 for the fourth wicket in 204 minutes. Ravi Teja completed his century and at close, remained unbeaten on 113 (260 balls, 11x4). At the other end Arjun Yadav was unbeaten on 54 which contained two hits to the fence. The match was called off six overs after tea. Delhi wicket keeper Puneet Bist suffered a minor injury when he twisted his knee while attempting to prevent a single in front of the wicket and Shikhar Dhawan took over. It was learnt later that Bist’s injury was not serious and he is likely to play in Delhi’s next mach. The season has started well for Hyderabad, which lost some of its talented players to the ICL scheme last year. The coach Kanwaljit Singh was understandably happy with his team’s performance. “Delhi was a strong side and I am very satisfied with the three points that we have obtained,” he said.
