Enrol more students into library: Collector

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Collector K. Raghupathi has asked the officials to enrol more students of the region in Government Library at Palavanatham for their benefit.

Inspecting a library at Palavanatham here on Thursday, he said that voracious readers have been highly successful in their career, he said students should make best use of the library to come up in life.

Every day an average of 60 persons were visiting the library that was established in 1954. It was open between 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

During interaction, some women complained that adequate stock of rice was not maintained in the local ration shop.

Mr. Raghupathi called up the Aruppukottai Taluk Supply Officer and instructed him to keep sufficient quantity of rice for the benefit of the people.

The Collector who saw children sitting on the floor at an anganwadi asked the teacher to provide mats for them. He also interacted with the children.
