Touch-screen smartphone from Sony Ericsson

Xperia X1 can be personalised to suit users’ mood and lifestyle

NEW DELHI: Sony Ericsson, a 50:50 joint venture between Sony and Ericsson, on Thursday launched its touch-screen smartphone, ‘Xperia X1’. Priced at Rs. 44,500, the new multimedia device has been launched to cater to users’ need of converged entertainment and mobile web communication experience.

Launching the phone here, Sony Ericsson India President Anil Sethi said ‘Xperia’, aimed to offer energizing communication and premium mobile experience with the promise of quality and functionality.

Loaded with Windows Mobile, ‘Xperia X1’ comes with a 3-inch wide screen and a full keyboard within a quality metal-finish body. The handset comes with a 4-GB card, which can be upgraded to 32 GB. “We have launched this high-end phone to target the premium multi-media devices market which is doubling every year,” Mr. Sethi added.

According to Sudhin Mathur, General Manager, Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications: “Xperia X1 can be personalised through nine panel user interface to suit to the users’ mood and lifestyle. Users can access content quickly and directly through touch-screen, easily switching between applications by touching one of the unique customised panels. With Windows Mobile, high data transfer rate and Wi-Fi support, one can enjoy favourite entertainment and work efficiently on the move.”
