Chennai: Third seed Joshna Chinappa entered the final of the NSC Super Satellite (No. 3) squash tournament, defeating top seed Sharon Wee of Malaysia 11-9, 11-9, 12-14, 11-2 in the semifinals at the National Squash Centre, Kuala Lumpur, on Thursday. Joshna will meet Malaysia’s Low Wee Wern in the final on Friday. “Joshna’s training at the ICL Academy in the last few months has significantly improved her game. She has been training with Saurav Ghosal, Harinder Pal Singh and the other boys, which has helped her defeat a player like Wee who is an Asian Games bronze medallist,” said Joshna’s father Anjan Chinappa. Earlier, Joshna had defeated seventh seed Chinatsu Matsui of Japan 11-8, 11-7, 11-7 in the quarterfinals. — Sports Reporter
