Tight security in Ramnad, Sivaganga

One of the injured law student is from Ramanathapuram district
SIVAGANGA: Security has been strengthened in Sivaganga and Ramanathapuram districts following the clash between two groups of students of Dr. Ambedkar Law College in Chennai.
According to sources, Bharathi Kannan, one of the critically injured students, belongs to Pazhankulam village near Thiruvadanai in Ramanathapuram district. His father Karuppaiah is the president of the Pazhankulam panchayat. They also have a house at Devakottai in Sivaganga district.
Following this, all police stations in Ramanathapuram and Sivaganga districts have been alerted to prevent any backlash.
N. Kannan, Superintendent of Police, Sivaganga, who is camping at Devakottai, told The Hindu that police picketing had been posted at all sensitive points. They were asked to maintain a close watch on activities of suspected elements. Vehicle check up at entry points had been ordered.
