Four arrested for damaging MGR statue

TIRUVARUR: Four persons – Muruganandam (28), Senthil (28), Prabhu (24) and Senthilkumar (28) of Mannargudi were arrested on Thursday for allegedly damaging the life-size cement statue of MGR at Cherankulam village near Mannargudi on Monday night. AIADMK workers led by R.Kamaraj, former MP and Tiruvavur district secretary, staged a demonstration and a road roko at Cherankulam village on Tuesday.
