Parameswari hogs limelight

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Parameswari of Palakkad hogged the limelight by winning her second gold medal even as Kannur took the overall lead with 80 points on the second day of the 38th Kerala Police athletic meet at the Chandrasekharan Nair stadium here on Tuesday. Alappuzha (55 points) and Palakkad (51) were in the second and third spot respectively.

Men: 400m: Sandeep (Knr) – 53.8s; Long jump: Jayaraj (Ekm) – 6.39m; 110m hurdles: Vivek (Alp) – 15.7s; shot put: T.M. Martin (KAP V) – 10.57m; 4x100m: KAP II – 45.9s; 3000m steeplechase: Sandeep (Knr) – 10:46.9s; Pole vault: Jijesh (KAP IV) – 3.10m; Decathlon: J. Sarath (KAP VIII)- 4516 pts; 10km walking: Maria Jose (Knr) – 56:42.05s.

Women: 400m: Jolly (Alp) – 1:09.6s; long jump: Parameswari (Pkd) – 3.93m; 4x100m relay: Wayanad – 1:00.9; shot put: K.S. Ambili (Idk) – 8.70m. — Principal Correspondent
