Bangalore woman ends life in guesthouse

HYDERABAD: Dejected over the rejection of her marriage proposal by a Hyderabadi software professional she had loved, a woman from Bangalore committed suicide by consuming poison in his guesthouse room at Madhapur on Monday night, the police said.

Sruthi, 23, was lying dead in the room when Pavan Kumar, employee of Tata Consultancy Services, returned to his room in Carpet Homes Guest House from office around 7.30 p.m., the Madhapur police station Inspector N. Bhujanga Rao told reporters. “It is learnt that Sruthi fell in love with Kumar but her marriage plans received a setback, as Kumar was shifted to Hyderabad,” the Inspector explained.

She came to the city on Sunday evening and went to his room. Sruthi and Kumar had a lengthy discussion about their future.

On Monday morning, Kumar went to his office. Kumar told police that Sruthi was normal when he left for office but found her dead on his return.

A case of suspicious death under Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code was registered. .
