Man’s role suspected in wife’s murder

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: A 19-year-old woman, Lingamma, was found strangled to death in her house at Jillelaguda village of L.B. Nagar on Tuesday morning.

Police believe that her husband, Kranthi Kumar, who reportedly used to torture her suspecting her fidelity and was absconding, could be behind the killing. Kumar earns his livelihood by driving an autorickshaw.

He married Lingamma two years ago. The couple, along with Lingamma’s maternal grandmother Maramma, live in a rented house at Jillelaguda.

Of late, he allegedly began suspecting her fidelity and beating up her frequently. Maramma told police that she found Lingamma murdered when she went to wake up the latter to collect drinking water around 6 a.m.
