DPCC office vandalised

NEW DELHI: The husband and son of former Delhi Mayor Jaishree Panwar were arrested for allegedly vandalising the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee office on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg after she was denied a party ticket for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

The incident took place after the party released its second list of 22 candidates for the polls on Monday. Finding that her name did not figure in the list, angry supporters of Ms. Panwar started shouting slogans and vandalised the DPCC office around 11 p.m.

The police later registered a case and arrested the former Mayor’s husband Surender Singh and their son Rajnish.

They were later released on bail.
