Australian cartridge chain adds 3 stores

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Cartridge World, reputed Australian speciality cartridge retailing chain, that specialises in reloading and refilling cartridges with technology specific to different varieties, launched three more franchisee stores in the city on Tuesday.

In addition to the stores launched in Ameerpet, Begumpet and Balanagar, another three would come up shortly at Dilsukhnagar, Mehdipatnam and Secunderabad, said Naveen Rakhecha, CEO, South Asia Cartridge world. The cost of refills would range from Rs.250 to Rs.10,000 depending on the cartridge.

Mr. Naveen said Cartridge World stores were one-stop-shop destinations for all printer related needs and services and also sell cartridges of different brands. Ideally, if right scientific process was used for refilling, a cartridge could be refilled at least 10 to 90 times to get the same quality as the new one. The scientific process would enhance the life of the cartridge. Using same ink or toners, as done in the unorganised sector, for refilling any and every inkjet /laser cartridges would not only damage the cartridge but the printer too, he cautioned.

Mr. Mike Fuller, MD, Cartridge World, Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, said the Rs.3,000 crore cartridge refilling sector in India was growing at 30 per cent with even individual consumers preferring e-transactions and easy printing of digital photographs. The eco-friendly scientific refilling process would ensure good quality printing and save expenditure. In India, 43 cartridge stores were set up and the target was to increase it to 250 by 2010.
