England women wind up training stint
Bangalore: Members of the England women’s cricket team concluded their training stint at Bangalore here on Tuesday.
The players were here for a week as part of their preparation for the World Cup in Australia, next year. “We are taking it step by step. The Indian pitches are real slow and the girls really coped well and this was part of the programme to improve their skills,” said Mark Lane, head coach.
The assistant coach Jack Birkenshaw added: “It is winter in England and we rarely get sunshine. It was the right time to get practice against some good Indian spinners.” — Principal Correspondent
