HYDERABAD: C. S. Rao, Commissioner, Ninth Pay Revision Commission, said here on Tuesday that he would strive to submit his report recommending the revised pay scales of the State government employees by June 2009. On receiving answers from the Joint Action Committee of Employees, Teachers & Workers to the Commission’s questionnaire, Mr. Rao said the task before him was stupendous as he would have to go through claims supported by volumes of statistics and accordingly prepare the report. He ruled out the possibility of circulating copies of the questionnaire to individual employees as it would be a laborious job. The Commission, therefore, decided to furnish the questionnaire copies only to representative service organisations to elicit their views as was done in the past. Nodal officerHe said each department had already designated a nodal officer to represent it before the Commission which would seek information from them about the scales, allowances and other financial benefits as and when necessary. Earlier, V. Gopal Reddy, chairman of JAC, K. Swamy Goud, secretary-general, M. Janardhan Reddy, co-chairman, and other leaders sought a minimum pay of Rs. 8,120 a month for a government employee with 56 per cent quantum fitment in the basic pay. They pleaded for a 3 per cent annual increment rate and continuation of masterscale in a cadre without stagnation. The government constituted the PRC on July 7, 2008 and asked it to submit the report within one year.
