India bags two golds
Chennai: India cornered two gold medals, a silver and bronze in the Asian rowing junior championships which concluded at Hong Kong on November 9.
The junior men consisting of Prashant Nair, Harinath Reddy, Sanjay Kholiya and Munesh Kumar won the gold in the coxless fours event, while Prathima Puthana and Pramila Prava Minz claimed the other gold in the coxless pair event.
In the girls’ section, the Indian quartet (quadruple sculls) annexed a silver. Priya Devi, Chaoba Devi, Thara Kurien and Dittymo Varghese constituted the squad. The fourth medal for India — a bronze — came in the junior doubles sculls (Anuj Kumar Singh and Yasin Khan).
