Contractor shot

NEW DELHI: A 30-year-old contractor was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Najafgarh here late on Sunday night.
The incident took place around 12-15 a.m. when Hitender Singh was returning home after attending a marriage at Uttam Nagar. He dropped his two friends at their residence and was nearing his house when someone shot at him twice in the back and neck.
Hearing the gunshots, local residents rushed to the spot and found Hitender bleeding profusely inside the car. The windowpane on the driver’s side was broken, suggesting that someone had shot him from outside.
Hitender was rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead.
