Mobile legal services for mentally ill

New Delhi: The mentally ill destitute persons like ramp model Geetanjali Nagpal, who was rescued last year after being found begging here, have something to look forward to with a Delhi High Court-monitored mobile service being introduced by DLSA for their treatment.

A magistrate from DLSA would now undertake the legal formalities for ordering government-sponsored treatment of homeless and mentally ill who are rescued from Capital’s streets.

The first of such camps was organised at Jama Masjid here on Monday . The legal assistance and involuntary treatment would be provided at the Jama Masjid outreach clinic every Monday for two hours between 6 and 8 p.m.
