‘Non-violence is essence of spirituality’

KOCHI: The tendency to satisfy the greed of human beings would dominate the need for ecological harmony, if human beings consider themselves superior to other beings and think that they are more rational than them, the Vice Chancellor of the Sree Sankara University of Sanskrit, K. S. Radhakrishnan has said.

Speaking after inaugurating a three-day State-level seminar on environmental accounting, organised here by the St. Teresa’s College, he said the Gandhian ideology of non-violence and living in harmony with nature was the true essence of spirituality.

The seminar focuses on enlightening the students and academic community about the toll taken on the environment because of economic development.
