Sunil Raju’s action ‘suspect’
Nashik: Sunil Raju, Karnataka’s off-break bowler is deemed to have “suspect action” by BCCI panel umpire K.N. Ananthapadmanabhan.
Raju bowled 48 overs against Railways in the Ranji Trophy Super League match at Bangalore last week.
Ananthapadmanabhan has informed the BCCI in writing (after the Karanataka-Railways match) that Raju’s action is suspect. He has conveyed his opinion to Diwakar Vasu, Match Referee for that match and also the Karnataka captain (Robin Uthappa). He has said in his report that the slow motion replays clearly showed the straightening of his (Raju’s) elbow at the time of release. — Special Correspondent
