Milk producers demand increase in price

CUTTACK: Hundreds of milk producers in Jagatsinghpur district on Monday demonstrated in front of the district Collector’s office demanding better price for their produce. Directing their anger on Omfed, the demonstrators alleged that the Federation has drifted away from its motto to work for the benefit of milk producers and consumers. “Instead, the Federation has become a profit-making organisation duping both the producers and consumers”, alleges Subash Behera, the secretary of Utkal Yadav Mahasabha, a State-level confederation of milk producers.
