Bagan beats Churchill

KOLKATA: Mohun Bagan held its nerve against a fast-attacking Churchill Brothers and registered its second successive victory in the ONGC I-League, winning by a solitary first-half goal in the seventh round game at the Salt Lake Stadium here on Sunday.

The star turn for Mohun Bagan was done by its striker P. Lalawmpuia, whose 14th minute strike was enough for the local side to pick up three points. Bagan has nine points. This was Churchill’s first loss in the league and it remained on12 points. — Special Correspondent
