Joga Singh on a roll

GURGAON: Lyallpur Khalsa Senior Secondary School (Jalandhar), helped by Joga Singh’s four goals including a hat-trick, defeated Sri Lanka School XI 11-0 in the Nehru junior hockey tournament at the Nehru Stadium here on Sunday.

The other scorers for Khalsa were Kanwarjit Singh (2), Manjinder Singh (2), Varinder Singh (2) and Gurwinder Singh.

In another match, Govt. Model School (Jalandhar) beat Army Boys Sports Coy. (Danapur) 5-2. Prabhdeep Singh (2), Karanpal Singh, Ggaurav Sehgal and Harjinder Singh scored for the Jalandhar team while Puneet Bhengra and Binay Bhengra reduced the margin for Danapur.

In a well-contested encounter, Bangladesh School XI overcame Young Pioneer English School (Imphal) 2-1. Abulal-al-Monsor and Rubel Hossain scored for Bangladesh School XI.

Khumantham Rabikanta was the scorer for the Imphal team.
