German mother not satisfied with probe

Panaji: A German woman, who accused Goa Education Minister Antanasio Monserratte’s son Rohit of having raped her teenaged daughter, on Sunday said she wanted to withdraw her complaint expressing “frustration” over the manner in which the probe is moving, her lawyer said.

“She has written to the Calangute police station expressing frustration over the way the investigation is proceeding. She has said that she intends to withdraw her complaint,” German mother’s lawyer Aires Rodrigues told PTI.

The complaint against 21-year-old Rohit was filed on October 2 and subsequently the First Information Report was lodged on October 14.

The police booked Rohit on the charge of raping, outraging modesty, abetting crime and sending lewd messages to the 14-year-old German girl. — PTI
