Sadhvi’s arrest political conspiracy, says BJP

New Delhi: The BJP on Sunday termed the arrest of Sadhvi Pragnya Singh Thakur in connection with the Malegaon blasts as a “political conspiracy” ahead of the Assembly elections in various States and the Lok Sabha polls.

“The narco test is not needed more than once if sufficient evidences are available. It means they [authorities] have no sufficient evidence. The Congress and NCP government is in Maharashtra and their conspiracy cannot be ruled out as elections are round the corner,” BJP president Rajnath Singh told NDTV in an interview.

“Vote-bank politics”

He alleged that the State government wanted to prolong the issue just for “the politics of vote bank.” The BJP dared the Congress to make the issue a political one and said if that happened the BJP would not hesitate to give a befitting reply on the issue.

“Those who want to do a politics of vote can do it. But it’s natural that if the Congress people speak on the issue we will also do the same. The Congress has been talking about Hindu terrorism but it never opposed it.

“But the truth is that the Congress government has utterly failed on the terrorism front. Hence to distract the attention of the people from terrorism, the government is raising such issues [Sadhvi Pragnya’s alleged involvement],” the BJP leader said. — PTI
