One held in south Gujarat

Special Correspondent

AHMEDABAD: The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad has arrested Ramji from the tribal-dominated Dangs district in south Gujarat in connection with the Malegaon bomb blasts.

The State police sources said Ramji was picked up from the Shabri temple in Dangs district where he was employed as a “sevak.” The Shabri temple had sought to fame recently when the Vishwa Hindu Parishad organised a massive rally of sadhus and sants to promote “Shabri Mata,” said to be an ardent disciple of Lord Ram, to woo the tribals.

Ramji was alleged to have used Sadhvi Pragnya’s motorbike in Malegaon. He was connected with Hindu Jagran Manch activist Swami Ashimananda, who has been working among the tribals in Dangs to re-convert the Christian tribals to Hinduism.
