Tight security

KOLAR: Masti village in Malur taluk in Kolar district on Sunday turned into a police fortress following unprecedented security arrangements.

The heavy police security was apparently made following a protest threat against local MLA and district in-charge Minister S.N. Krishnaiah Shetty by the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike. The vedike activists had set a deadline to Mr. Shetty to apologise by November 8 to the pro-Kannada outfit for the latter’s alleged hand in the arrest of Kannada activists on Rajyotsava day. — Staff Correspondent
