Aavin selected for award

MADURAI: The Madurai Aavin has been chosen as the best Milk Producing Cooperative Society in the State for the year 2007-08.

Known formally as Madurai District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union, it is one among the 17 unions in the State selected for the award given annually by the State Government, its General Manager (in-charge) K. Thangarajan said in an press release.

The award was given based on the union’s performance in areas of milk production and making profits.

In March this year, the Central Government chose the Madurai Aavin as the best union at the national level, he said. Mr. Thangarajan thanked the public, milk producers, vendors and others associated with the Madurai Aavin for their contribution towards its success.
