GURGAON: Dudhiyal Khalsa Higher Secondary School, Patiala, beat Tirhut Academy, Muzaffarpur, 7-0 in a group ‘C’ match to qualify for the super league phase of the Nehru junior hockey tournament here on Saturday. Gagandeep Singh (2), Tarandeep Singh, Prashant Kalash, Harsimranjit Singh, Ramandeep Singh and Bachattar Singh scored for the Patiala team. In group ‘D’, Young Pioneer English School, Imphal, trounced CRZ Senior Secondary School, Sonepat, 7-2 to join the Super League teams. Moirang Bronson Singh (3) Mayengvam Prem Chand, Kriyum Wangmba and. K. Rabikanta (2) were the Imphal scorers. Naveen and Mohit reduced the margin for the Haryana team. Sat Guru Pratap Singh Academy, Sri Bhaini Sahib, Ludhiana, beat Government Senior Secondary School, Gurgaon, 4-1 in group `A’ to make it to the Super League round. Malak Singh, Gurmail Singh (2) and Dilbagh Singh scored for the winner. Ran Singh was the Gurgaon marksman. In an inconsequential group ‘B’ match, Guru Gobind Singh Sports College, Lucknow, beat Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai, 5-3. Manoj Singh Bisht (2), Kushal Yadav (2) and Rahul Singh scored for the Lucknow team while Ajay Kumar (2) and Raghav Dahiya were the Rai scorers.
