Logica posts wins

BANGALORE: Logica recorded two emphatic victories in the SPT organised Corporate Futsal League at the SPT complex here on Saturday.

While Logica downed KPMG 2-0 in the morning it returned mid-afternoon to register a flattering 5-1 victory over Symphony. Fourteen teams, in two groups, will figure in the third edition of the Corporate league.

The results (League): Logica bt KPMG 2-0; Symphony bt Bosch 2-0; MindTree bt CapGemini 3-1; Cisco bt Sun Micro System 2-0; ITC bt KPMG 2-0; Logica bt Symphony 5-1; CapGemini bt Bosch 2-0.

Full points for Mico

Mico snatched full points from its State ‘C’ division hockey league tie against Royal HC with a 4-2 scoreline at the KSHA stadium here on Saturday.

Santosh put Mico in the lead with a seventh minute strike. Goutham added another in the 22nd. Satish Kumar then pulled one back Royal HC. However two goals in the second session through Goutham and Kalappa were enough to ensure Mico’s win despite Aditya pulling one back late in the game.

In the other matches of the day, Adhiyaman College pumped in seven goals without reply against New Ashok HC. Rajaram and Aravind netted a brace each with Kumar, Balaji and Vasanth Rajan adding one each.

Rising Star HC edged past Star Track HC by an odd goal in three. Surjith and Kishan scored for Rising Star while Leon Johnson scored for the loser.

Manjunath shines

Manjunath’s five for 46 and 106 helped Mohan’s XI register a six-wicket win over Sree Ganesh Kreeda Mandali in the Sri Gopalaswami Memorial league tie in Mysore on Friday.

The scores: SGKM 209 in 35.1 overs (Abhishek 68, Manjunath five for 46) lost to Mohan’s XI 217 for four in 21.3 overs (Manjunath 106, Rohith 40 not out, Yogesh 40).

Jayanagar CC 211 in 45.1 overs (N. Shreyas 58, Raghavendra 52 not out, Prakyath 50, Amrudh four for 60) bt City Cricketers, Mandya 71 in 20 overs (Raghavendra four for 17).

Volleyball tournament

The SSM Public School will organise an inter-school volleyball tournament in Bangalore on Nov. 22 and 23. Entries close on Nov. 19. Call Shankar (Ph: 26764054).

District championship

The State junior inter-district volleyball championship will be held at Holalu from Nov. 20 to 23. The Karnataka Volleyball Association will also conduct a referee’s examination at Nagamangala on Nov. 15. For details call K. Nanda Kumar (Ph: 22228695).
