Appeal for funds from devotees

MADURAI: The Subramaniaswamy Temple at Tirupparankundram near here has planned to cover its ‘Anna Vahanam,’ ‘Kuthirai Vahanam’ and ‘Sesha Vahanam’ with silver.

In a press release, temple Executive Officer S. Alagarsamy said that these three ‘vahanams’ were presently made of wood and the temple intended to case them in silver.

The silver estimated to be required for these three ‘vahanams’ is around 180 kilograms. “The temple is appealing for funds from devotees. We will accept donations in cash and also silver,” he said.
