Film: Ekalavyudu Cast: Udaykiran, Kruthi Direction: KRK A young man Karthik (Udaykiran) is at the beck and call of a villain merely because the latter had given him a few lakhs to bail his family out of difficult times and the villain in turn asks for the hero’s heart for transplantation as his only daughter suffers from a strange disease. Ekalavyudu sticks to his promise, wants to show his gratitude but suddenly undergoes a change of heart as he falls in love with Indu (Kruthi). He wants to repay the money to the villain and lead a normal life with Indu but the villain is not willing. Twist
The twist in the story happens when it is revealed that the villain is no more a villain but a doting father to Indu. Since the director cannot end the story abruptly he creates an adversary for Indu’s father who in turn kidnaps Karthik who is reaching the hospital for the operation. The unbelievable part of the story is that the doctor wants him brain dead at the time of operation and Udaykiran plans to get hit by an ambulance so that he could be taken in the same vehicle to the hospital. The conversation between Udaykiran and his father Chalapati Rao is not well conceived. There are some gory scenes and scenes like the dog holding a dismembered arm in its mouth could have been avoided. Technically, the film has nothing to boast of and the music is passable. The director wanted to show the element of gratitude and love in this film but sadly the plot is not happening. Y. Sunita Chowdhary
