NEW DELHI: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Friday said the Centre should take reports of ‘Hindutva infiltration’ in the Army seriously. In a statement, the CPI(M) Polit Bureau demanded an investigation into the role of the Bhonsala Military School, adding that no private educational institution could be allowed to provide military training. Referring to reports that the Malegaon bomb blast was allegedly masterminded by some Hindutva organisations, the Polit Bureau said the involvement of retired Army officers and a serving officer had disturbing implications for national security. New dimension“The new dimension to the growing terrorist threat must be fully investigated and the entire network and persons involved uncovered. Instead of strongly coming out against such extremist groups resorting to terror, the Bharatiya Janata Party has dismissed the serious development as a ‘sponsored investigation.’ The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and its outfits are making absurd statements that Hindus cannot be terrorists. These are the same people who go on talking about Islamic terrorism,” the statement noted. Of the view that the presence of extremist elements resorting to terrorist violence among Muslims and Hindus must be recognised, the Polit Bureau said both should be dealt with firmly and their networks dismantled irrespective of which community they belonged to.
